Race Summary & Analysis (2026)

Lando Norris delivered a dominant performance for McLaren to win the 2026 Hungarian Grand Prix, taking the chequered flag with a significant margin of 15.080 seconds. Max Verstappen secured second place for Red Bull Racing, finishing comfortably ahead of the pursuing pack. The final podium position was claimed by Mercedes’ Andrea Kimi Antonelli, who crossed the line 18.728 seconds behind the race winner to secure a strong result for his team.

The battle for fourth was a close intra-team affair at Ferrari, with Charles Leclerc finishing just 0.700 seconds ahead of teammate Lewis Hamilton. Further back, Isack Hadjar brought his Red Bull home in sixth position, followed by George Russell for Mercedes. The remaining points-paying positions were all a lap behind the leader, with Liam Lawson (Racing Bulls) finishing eighth, Nico Hülkenberg securing ninth for Audi, and Arvid Lindblad scoring the final point in tenth for Racing Bulls.

The race concluded with a double retirement for the Cadillac F1 Team, as both Sergio Pérez and Valtteri Bottas failed to finish the Grand Prix. A difficult afternoon for Oscar Piastri saw the McLaren driver classified in 20th position, having completed 15 fewer laps than the race winner. Drivers from Franco Colapinto in 15th to Oliver Bearman in 19th were all classified two laps down.
