The Free Practice 3 results are not available (yet).
The third free practice session serves as the final preparation for qualifying. While teams primarily focus on data collection, race simulations, and long runs during FP1 and FP2, FP3 is often centered on extracting maximum performance over a single fast lap.
Drivers try to build confidence in the car, while engineers make final adjustments to the setup, aerodynamics, brake balance, and suspension. Small improvements can ultimately make the difference between a spot on the front row and a position in the middle of the pack.
Although the fastest lap time during FP3 attracts a lot of attention, teams also look at factors such as tire management, DRS effectiveness, track temperature, track evolution, and performance on the various Pirelli compounds.
Conditions during this session often closely mirror those of qualifying, making the results a key indicator for the battle for pole position.
In addition, FIA regulations regarding track limits, red flags, and on-track safety can significantly impact the session. A single deleted lap can be enough to cost a driver valuable preparation time.
The final step toward qualification
For many teams, FP3 is the moment when all the data collected over the race weekend comes together. Based on performance during the initial free practice sessions, final decisions are made for qualifying and the Grand Prix.
