Race Summary & Analysis (2026)

Andrea Kimi Antonelli delivered a commanding victory for Mercedes at the 2026 Belgian Grand Prix, securing a full 25 points. The Italian driver held off a charging Charles Leclerc, who brought his Ferrari home in second place, just 1.952 seconds adrift of the winner. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen completed the podium finishers, crossing the line 11.586 seconds behind Antonelli to claim third position and 15 championship points.

Behind the top three, Lewis Hamilton secured a strong fourth-place finish for Ferrari, with McLaren’s Oscar Piastri following in fifth. Red Bull’s Isack Hadjar finished sixth, just ahead of Lando Norris in the second McLaren. The final points-paying positions were filled by Gabriel Bortoleto for Audi in eighth, Arvid Lindblad for Racing Bulls in ninth, and Alpine F1 Team’s Franco Colapinto, who claimed the final point in tenth position.

The race saw three drivers fail to reach the finish line. Lance Stroll (Aston Martin), Sergio Pérez (Cadillac F1 Team), and George Russell (Mercedes) were all recorded as retirements (DNF). Further down the classification, Fernando Alonso in the remaining Aston Martin was classified two laps down from the leader, while Cadillac F1 Team’s Valtteri Bottas completed the race one lap down from the winner.
