Race Summary & Analysis (2026)

Max Verstappen delivered a controlled performance to secure victory for Red Bull at the 2026 Bahrain Grand Prix, completing the full 55-lap race distance. Mercedes rookie Andrea Kimi Antonelli claimed an impressive second place, finishing just 2.307 seconds behind the winner. Lewis Hamilton, in his debut for Ferrari, rounded out the podium positions by taking third place, a further 2.612 seconds behind Antonelli and 4.919 seconds from the lead.

The battle for the remaining points saw Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and Red Bull’s Isack Hadjar finish in fourth and fifth positions, respectively. Oscar Piastri secured a solid sixth place for McLaren. Further down, Liam Lawson finished seventh for Racing Bulls, ahead of Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso in eighth. Lando Norris claimed ninth for McLaren, with Racing Bulls driver Arvid Lindblad securing the final championship point in tenth position.

Three drivers were classified but failed to see the chequered flag. George Russell’s race for Mercedes ended prematurely, leaving him classified in 20th place and six laps down. Alexander Albon of Williams was classified 21st, having completed 14 fewer laps than the leaders. The earliest retirement was Cadillac F1 Team’s Valtteri Bottas, who was classified 22nd after completing only seven laps, 48 laps short of the full distance.
