Antonelli extends dominant lead while the battle for P2 ignites
Kimi Antonelli has further cemented his commanding lead in the Formula 1 World Championship following the Mexico Grand Prix. The Mercedes driver now sits on an incredible 365 points, creating a seemingly unassailable gap to the rest of the field.
While the title seems decided, the battle for the runner-up position has become exceptionally fierce. Just nine points now separate four drivers, with George Russell on 242 points holding a slender one-point advantage over his teammate Lewis Hamilton.
Hot on the heels of the Mercedes duo are Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc, with 236 and 233 points respectively, ensuring the fight for second will go down to the wire. In the constructors’ standings, Mercedes enjoys a comfortable lead with 607 points, well ahead of Ferrari and Red Bull.
