Race Summary & Analysis (2025)

Max Verstappen secured a dominant victory for Red Bull at the 2025 Qatar Grand Prix, completing the 57-lap race with a total time of 1:24:38.241. McLaren’s Oscar Piastri finished in a comfortable second place, crossing the line 7.995 seconds behind the winner. The final podium position was claimed by Carlos Sainz, who brought his Williams home in third, 22.665 seconds adrift of Verstappen and successfully defending his position.

Just missing out on a podium finish, Lando Norris placed his McLaren in fourth, finishing narrowly behind Sainz. Mercedes teammates Andrea Kimi Antonelli and George Russell came home in fifth and sixth, respectively. The remaining points-scoring positions were filled by Fernando Alonso for Aston Martin in seventh, Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc in eighth, Liam Lawson of Racing Bulls in ninth, and Yuki Tsunoda, who secured the final point for Red Bull in tenth place.

The race featured four retirements. Nico Hülkenberg of Stake F1 was the first to exit after completing only 6 laps, followed by Haas F1 Team’s Oliver Bearman after 41 laps. Two drivers retired with just two laps remaining; Lance Stroll (Aston Martin) and Isack Hadjar (Racing Bulls) were both classified as DNF after completing 55 laps. Three other drivers—Franco Colapinto, Esteban Ocon, and Pierre Gasly—were classified finishers but completed only 56 laps, one lap down on the leaders.
