Race Summary & Analysis (2026)

Andrea Kimi Antonelli secured a dominant victory for Mercedes at the United States Grand Prix, crossing the finish line with a commanding 13.078-second advantage. The result underscored a flawlessly executed race from the lead. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc claimed a solid second place, comfortably clear of the battle behind but unable to close the gap to the winner. Max Verstappen completed the podium for Red Bull, finishing 17.485 seconds behind Antonelli and over four seconds adrift of Leclerc, securing third position.

narrowly missed out on a podium, finishing fourth just over a second behind Verstappen. McLaren achieved a strong double-points finish with Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri claiming fifth and seventh respectively, their cars separated by Red Bull’s Isack Hadjar in sixth place. The final points-paying positions were filled by George Russell for Mercedes in P8, Liam Lawson earning two points for Racing Bulls in P9, and Alpine F1 Team’s Pierre Gasly, who took the final point in tenth.

The race featured three official retirements, with Valtteri Bottas (Cadillac F1 Team), Franco Colapinto (Alpine F1 Team), and Oliver Bearman (Haas F1 Team) all failing to complete the race distance. A significant portion of the field was unable to keep pace with the leaders, as every driver from 12th-placed Arvid Lindblad to 19th-placed Sergio Pérez was classified as one lap down by the chequered flag. This group included both cars from the Audi, Aston Martin, Williams, and Cadillac F1 Teams.
