Race Summary & Analysis (2026)

Charles Leclerc secured victory for Ferrari at the 2026 British Grand Prix, crossing the line in a tightly contested finish. The Monegasque driver held off Mercedes’ George Russell, who finished just 0.427 seconds behind to claim second place. Leclerc’s new Ferrari teammate, Lewis Hamilton, completed the podium in third position, a mere 0.772 seconds from the race winner, securing a significant double-podium points haul for the Maranello-based team.

Lando Norris brought his McLaren home in fourth, narrowly missing out on a podium with a gap of +1.149s to the leader. Red Bull’s Isack Hadjar finished fifth, securing ten valuable points. A strong performance from the Racing Bulls team saw both Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad finish in the points, in sixth and seventh respectively. Gabriel Bortoleto claimed eighth for Audi, while the Alpine F1 Team rounded out the top ten with a double points-scoring result, as Franco Colapinto led teammate Pierre Gasly in ninth and tenth.

Three drivers failed to finish the race. Alexander Albon of Williams was a confirmed retirement (DNF), while Red Bull’s Max Verstappen and Audi’s Nico Hülkenberg were also non-finishers. A further three competitors were classified one lap down on the race leader; this group included Williams driver Carlos Sainz and the Aston Martin pairing of Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll, who finished 18th and 19th respectively.
