Race Summary & Analysis (2026)

Oscar Piastri secured a commanding victory for McLaren at the 2026 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, finishing the 50-lap race to take 25 points. The Australian driver managed the gap effectively to Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, who crossed the line just 2.843 seconds behind to claim second place. Charles Leclerc completed the podium for Ferrari, finishing 8.104 seconds adrift of the winner in a closely contested battle among the front-runners.

Lando Norris backed up his teammate’s win with a strong fourth-place finish for McLaren, narrowly missing the podium by just over a second. Mercedes achieved a solid double-points result, with George Russell and Andrea Kimi Antonelli finishing fifth and sixth respectively. Lewis Hamilton placed seventh in his Ferrari, ahead of a successful team performance from Williams, which saw Carlos Sainz take eighth and Alexander Albon ninth. Isack Hadjar claimed the final point for Racing Bulls in tenth position.

Two drivers failed to finish the Grand Prix. Pierre Gasly of the Alpine F1 Team was the first retirement, classified in 20th place after not completing a single lap. Red Bull’s Yuki Tsunoda also had his race cut short, officially classified as 19th having completed only one lap before his early exit from the proceedings. A further four drivers were classified one lap down on the race winner.
