Arvid Lindblad, the 19-year-old British Formula 1 driver for Visa Cash App Racing Bulls, has successfully passed his driving theory examination. This personal milestone comes during his debut season in the pinnacle of motorsport.
Lindblad, who is the sole rookie on the 2026 F1 grid, shared his test results publicly. The examination included both a multiple-choice section and a hazard perception component.
He achieved a score of 46 out of 50 points in the multiple-choice segment of the test. For the hazard perception section, Lindblad secured 52 out of a possible 75 points.
The hazard perception score, in particular, generated considerable discussion across social media platforms. Commentators highlighted the perceived irony for a professional racing driver.
‘Only 52 of 75 points for hazard perception? Perhaps with the reflexes of an F1 driver, he doesn’t consider some things dangerous because he can control the car.’
This achievement follows a recent competitive outing for Lindblad in the 2026 Formula 1 season. He was involved in an incident during the second free practice session at the inaugural Madrid Grand Prix.
The Madrid Grand Prix, a new street circuit on the current F1 calendar, saw Lindblad crash at Turn 13, triggering a red flag. He emerged from the incident uninjured.
Despite the practice crash, Lindblad recovered to finish ninth in the main Madrid Grand Prix race. Kimi Antonelli won the event, with Max Verstappen second and Lando Norris third.
Lindblad’s rapid ascent through the junior ranks saw him become the youngest-ever race winner in both Formula 3 and Formula 2. He joined the Red Bull Junior Team in 2021.
Beyond his theory test, Lindblad also recently demonstrated his raw driving skill in a karting event at Silverstone. He started from the last position in a 50-participant race.
The British driver proceeded to overtake all 49 other competitors to claim victory on the Silverstone asphalt. This performance underscores his extensive karting background.
This recent karting feat highlights Lindblad’s involvement in an upcoming challenge for Max Verstappen. Verstappen is set to compete against 100 drivers in a karting event at Silverstone tomorrow.
Lindblad, who partners Liam Lawson at Racing Bulls, is the youngest British driver in Formula 1 history. He is also the fourth-youngest driver to ever participate in a Grand Prix.
Racing Bulls Team Principal Alan Permane has previously commented on Lindblad’s progression. Permane noted his rapid development marks him as a standout young talent in the sport.
