Former IndyCar driver James Hinchcliffe has predicted a podium finish for Racing Bulls during the current 2026 Formula 1 season. Hinchcliffe made this bold prediction for the second half of the year, following a competitive start to the campaign for the Faenza-based squad.
Racing Bulls has consistently placed inside the top 10 throughout the first half of the 2026 season. The team currently holds fifth position in the Constructors’ Championship, leading the midfield battle.
They maintain a five-point advantage over Alpine in the standings. Alpine is currently the only team outside the top four to have secured a podium finish this year.
Pierre Gasly achieved a third-place finish for Alpine at the Monaco Grand Prix earlier this season. Hinchcliffe believes Racing Bulls could soon join them in the top three.
Hinchcliffe indicated that both Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad are in a strong position to capitalise on any shortcomings from the front-running teams. He refrained from specifying which driver is more likely.
Both drivers are currently delivering at a high level during race weekends. Hinchcliffe suggested that a rain-affected race could provide the ideal opportunity for a podium result.
Isack Hadjar previously secured a podium for the Faenza squad last season. This history supports Hinchcliffe’s belief in the team’s potential for a top-three finish this year.
