Hitech driver Ritomo Miyata achieved a significant career milestone during the Formula 2 round at the Madring circuit, securing his maiden victory in the Sprint Race before claiming a podium in the Feature Race. The results mark a turning point in what has been his third season in the championship.

Miyata started the Sprint Race from second on the grid, alongside reverse-grid pole-sitter Emmerson Fittipaldi Jr of AIX Racing. The Japanese driver made a decisive move into the first corner, taking the lead from Fittipaldi immediately.

He then controlled the race, expertly managing two Safety Car restarts. The first was caused by Nico Varrone hitting a barrier after contact with Kush Maini, and the second occurred when championship leader Nikola Tsolov spun out of the race.

Miyata pulled away in the closing stages to win by over 2.6 seconds, delivering Hitech its first F2 victory since the 2025 Baku Sprint Race. Fittipaldi held on for second, his first podium in the series, with Laurens van Hoepen finishing third for Trident.

Following his Sprint Race success, Miyata delivered another strong performance in the Feature Race to finish in third position. The double podium represents a breakthrough for the driver, who entered the 2026 season with Hitech after campaigns with Rodin Motorsport and ART Grand Prix.

Before the Madring weekend, Miyata was 12th in the championship standings with 44 points. His strong results have provided a significant boost to his position. The weekend was also notable for championship leader Nikola Tsolov, who failed to score points.

The Sprint Race top ten was completed by Noel León, Martinius Stenshorne, Rafael Câmara, Alexander Dunne, Mari Boya, Gabriele Minì, and Dino Beganovic. In the Feature Race, Alexander Dunne finished second, splitting the two Hitech cars, with Miyata in third.
