Peter Windsor has expressed confidence in Max Verstappen’s performance during the 2026 Formula 1 season. The former team manager stated that Verstappen will demonstrate significant strength throughout the current campaign. This assessment follows ongoing observations of the Dutchman’s form.

Windsor recently highlighted Verstappen’s unwavering strength on his YouTube channel. He noted the driver’s consistent pace across various circuit types, demonstrating adaptability to the new technical regulations introduced this year.

Following the British Grand Prix, Windsor specifically commented on Verstappen’s ability to extract maximum performance from the Red Bull RB22. This capability is evident even when the car encounters minor setup challenges.

Windsor emphasized Verstappen’s mental fortitude as a critical factor in his sustained high-level performance. He believes this attribute allows Verstappen to maintain his competitive edge.

The former Williams and Ferrari team manager has consistently dismissed any suggestions of a decline in Verstappen’s performance. Windsor asserts that the three-time world champion is operating at an exceptionally high level.

Verstappen currently leads the 2026 Drivers’ Championship standings. He has secured victories at the Australian, Emilia-Romagna, and Canadian Grands Prix earlier this season. Charles Leclerc is his closest rival.

Red Bull Racing maintains a strong position in the 2026 Constructors’ Championship. This is largely attributed to Verstappen’s consistent points finishes and multiple race victories.

The team’s development pace has been crucial in adapting to the new power unit regulations this year. The RB22 chassis, combined with the updated Honda Red Bull Powertrains unit, has proven competitive.

While some rivals have shown strong single-lap pace, Red Bull’s race strategy and pit stop efficiency remain significant advantages. Christian Horner previously expressed confidence in the team’s internal engine development capabilities for the 2026 regulations.
