Red Bull Racing currently occupies fourth position in the 2026 Formula 1 Constructors’ Championship standings. Max Verstappen, the team’s lead driver, is placed sixth in the Drivers’ Championship after 11 of 23 rounds.
Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team leads the Constructors’ Championship with 379 points, holding a 72-point advantage over Ferrari. Andrea Kimi Antonelli, driving for Mercedes, leads the Drivers’ Championship with 219 points, 50 points ahead of Lewis Hamilton.
Ferrari and McLaren also sit ahead of Red Bull in the Constructors’ standings, with 307 and 220 points respectively. Red Bull has accumulated 177 points so far this season.
Red Bull has yet to secure a Grand Prix victory in the 2026 season. Max Verstappen has achieved four podium finishes, representing the team’s best results to date.
The 2026 season introduced significant regulation changes, including a revised power unit configuration and new active aerodynamics. Red Bull is running its first fully in-house power unit, developed in collaboration with Ford.
Team principal Laurent Mekies had downplayed ambitions for the season, acknowledging the challenges of a new power unit. However, the chassis has been identified as the primary source of the team’s difficulties.
Pierre Wache, Red Bull’s technical director, has cited ‘limitations’ within the 2026 car package. Both Max Verstappen and Isack Hadjar have described the car as ‘undriveable’ at points during the season.
Red Bull has introduced 37 upgrades to its car during the first half of the campaign, the highest number among all teams. Despite this development effort, significant performance gains have not materialised.
In contrast, Mercedes has adopted a more selective approach to upgrades, introducing 23 modifications. Ferrari and McLaren are tied with 35 upgrades each.
The Formula 1 season is currently in its summer break. The next event on the calendar is the Dutch Grand Prix, scheduled for August 23, 2026, at Circuit Park Zandvoort.
