The 2026 Formula 1 constructors’ championship standings show a significant divergence from the previous season. Mercedes currently leads the field after 11 rounds, accumulating 379 points. This marks a substantial improvement for the team compared to their 2025 performance.

Ferrari holds second position with 307 points. McLaren, the dominant force in 2025, now sits in third place with 220 points. This represents a considerable shift in the competitive landscape of the sport.

At the same point in 2025, McLaren had secured 417 points after 11 races, establishing a commanding lead. Ferrari was second with 210 points, and Mercedes held third with 209 points.

The 2025 season saw McLaren clinch the Constructors’ Championship with six races remaining, sealing their title at the Singapore Grand Prix. This marked their second consecutive constructors’ crown.

Mercedes has emerged as the biggest gainer in 2026, adding 170 points compared to their 2025 tally at this stage. Ferrari also improved their position, gaining 97 points.

Conversely, McLaren experienced the most significant decline, losing 197 points relative to their 2025 performance. Andrea Stella acknowledged the team paid a ‘heavy price’ for their previous title success.

Red Bull Racing currently occupies fourth place with 177 points, an increase of 15 points from their 2025 standing. Racing Bulls, formerly Visa Cash App Racing Bulls, are fifth with 66 points.

Alpine has made a notable ascent, moving to sixth place with 61 points, a gain of 50 points from their 2025 position. Haas F1 Team holds seventh with 21 points.

Audi, a new entrant, has 12 points, while Williams sits in ninth with 11 points. Aston Martin is currently tenth with a single point. Cadillac, another new team, has yet to score.

The regulation reset for the 2026 season introduced substantial changes to power unit architecture. The MGU-H was eliminated, and the MGU-K’s role was significantly expanded, increasing electrical output to 350 kW.

Aerodynamic regulations also underwent a major overhaul, introducing full-time active aerodynamics. Cars now dynamically adjust front and rear wings for ‘Straight Mode’ and ‘Corner Mode’, replacing the previous DRS system.

Chassis dimensions were reduced, with a shorter wheelbase and narrower width, alongside a 30kg decrease in minimum weight. These modifications aimed to reduce drag by 40% and downforce by 15-30%.

The FIA described these 2026 changes as the ‘biggest combined reset of chassis and power unit regulations in Formula 1 history.’ Some teams have voiced concerns regarding the transition.
