Lando Norris, the reigning 2025 Formula 1 World Champion, has established his own junior single-seater racing team, LN4 Fusion. The new outfit is scheduled to commence competition in 2027 across multiple feeder series. This initiative marks a significant expansion of Norris’s involvement in motorsport beyond his current McLaren commitments.
The team will make its debut in the Italian Formula 4 Championship, the FIA Formula Regional European Championship (FREC), and the FIA Formula 3 Championship. LN4 Fusion has acquired specific assets from AIX Racing, which includes a confirmed entry for the 2027 Formula 3 season.
Beyond these initial entries, LN4 Fusion is actively pursuing further expansion. The team is currently operating a dedicated testing programme for British Formula 4 and is working towards securing a formal entry into that championship. Discussions are also underway regarding a potential entry into the FIA Formula 2 series for future seasons.
René Rosin has been appointed as the Team Principal for LN4 Fusion. Rosin brings extensive experience from junior motorsport, having previously led successful operations in various categories. His leadership is expected to guide the new team’s competitive efforts.
Norris has also launched the LN4 Legacy Programme, a driver development initiative designed to identify and support young talent. This programme aims to provide financial assistance, coaching, performance guidance, and career support to aspiring drivers. Norris stated that getting to Formula 1 requires more than just talent, emphasizing the need for proper support and opportunities.
The LN4 Fusion cars will feature a livery dominated by Norris’s signature fluorescent yellow, a colour synonymous with his personal brand. The entire project is backed by an investment group, with Dan Richards leading the corporate strategy, commercial development, and long-term business growth.
Operational bases for LN4 Fusion are being established in both Europe and the United Kingdom. A European headquarters is under development in Veneto, northern Italy, while a British base in Cambridgeshire is already active, focusing on the British F4 programme.
Norris recently extended his contract with the McLaren Formula 1 Team until at least the end of 2030, a deal announced on August 29, 2026. He secured his maiden Formula 1 World Championship title in 2025.
‘McLaren is my home, and I’m very pleased to be signing a new contract to keep me with the team until at least 2030,’ Norris stated. ‘When I started this journey nine years ago, I was clear about the goals I wanted to achieve: to get McLaren back to the front and to win championships. We’ve achieved that goal, but we want more; we want to keep on winning, and we know as a team that we’re capable of achieving it.’
The 2026 Formula 1 season sees Norris competing with the number 1 on his car as the reigning World Champion. He currently holds fourth position in the Drivers’ Championship standings.
