McLaren Racing has reported a significant increase in its financial turnover for the 2025 calendar year, reaching £588.5 million. This figure represents a substantial rise of £99.6 million, or over 20 percent, compared to the £488.9 million recorded in 2024.

The Woking-based outfit is now projected to become the first Formula 1 team to surpass $1 billion in annual revenue during the 2026 season.

More than 90 percent of McLaren Racing’s total income is generated through its Formula 1 operations. The remaining revenue stems from its IndyCar activities.

This financial upturn is largely attributed to McLaren’s strong on-track performance in recent seasons. The team secured the Constructors’ Championship in 2024.

Lando Norris then clinched the Drivers’ World Championship in 2025, marking McLaren’s first drivers’ title since 2008. The team also defended its Constructors’ crown that year.

Increased commercial activity and new sponsorship agreements have also played a crucial role in this revenue boost. Key partners include Mastercard, Google, DP World, Intel, Allwyn, and OKX.

Despite the record turnover in 2025, the McLaren F1 team recorded a surprising financial loss of £17.3 million after tax. This contrasts with a £53.836 million profit in 2024.

The company’s cost of sales for 2025 stood at £534.332 million, resulting in a gross profit of £54.141 million. Expenses for the year amounted to £129.651 million.

McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown received a substantial payout in 2025, reportedly exceeding $100 million. This compensation package was primarily linked to a share award.

The share award was triggered by the buyout of the outfit’s minority owners by Bahrain and Abu Dhabi funds. Brown’s base salary also saw an increase.

McLaren had required external capital during the pandemic. Under Brown’s leadership, the team has since undergone a significant recovery, reversing a period of commercial and sporting struggle.
