Alpine has officially confirmed Franco Colapinto will remain with the team for the 2027 Formula 1 season. This extension follows his performance during the current 2026 campaign. Colapinto joined Alpine in 2025 after a six-race stint with Williams in late 2024, where he replaced Jack Doohan.

During the 2026 season, Colapinto has secured points in six of the twelve rounds contested so far. His best result was a sixth-place finish at the Canadian Grand Prix. Pierre Gasly is also confirmed to remain with Alpine for 2027, forming an unchanged driver pairing.

Lewis Hamilton, now a Ferrari driver, has publicly stated that Ferrari must significantly improve to challenge Mercedes for the 2026 Formula 1 titles. Hamilton and teammate Charles Leclerc have each secured one victory this season.

The recent Dutch Grand Prix saw George Russell of Mercedes reclaim second position in the drivers’ standings from Hamilton. Mercedes currently leads the Constructors’ Championship by a narrow margin over Ferrari. The championship battle is intensifying.

Ferrari plans to unveil a special tribute livery for Michael Schumacher at the upcoming Italian Grand Prix. The 2026 season marks two significant anniversaries for Schumacher’s tenure with Ferrari.

It is 30 years since his inaugural season with the Scuderia in 1996 and 20 years since his final season in 2006. Schumacher secured five of his seven World Championships with Ferrari. His initial retirement was announced at Monza in 2006.

Yuki Tsunoda has indicated his availability for a 2027 Formula 1 seat, urging interested teams to contact him. Tsunoda recently returned to a race seat at the Dutch Grand Prix, substituting for Liam Lawson at Visa Cash App Racing Bulls.

He finished 11th, ahead of regular driver Arvid Lindblad. Tsunoda’s performance at Zandvoort has reignited discussions about his future in the sport. His contract with Racing Bulls for 2026 was a one-year deal.

Untelevised team radio footage from the Dutch Grand Prix revealed Liam Lawson’s sarcastic reaction to an aggressive move by Max Verstappen on the opening lap. The incident occurred at the exit of Turn 3 at Zandvoort.

Lawson and Verstappen made wheel-to-wheel contact. Verstappen subsequently retired from the race after an accident at the final corner. Lawson’s radio message conveyed his displeasure with Verstappen’s driving standards.
