The championship battle resumes with 12 races remaining on the 2026 calendar. The next event is the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort, scheduled for August 21-23. This race marks the return to competition after the summer break.
Following Zandvoort, the schedule includes races in Italy, Spain, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Singapore, the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Las Vegas, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi. The season is set to conclude with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on December 4-6.
Ferrari’s SF-26 car has demonstrated competitive performance across various circuit types this season. The team’s focus is now on improving its understanding of the car’s setup to consistently extract maximum potential during race weekends.
Early in the season, Hamilton recorded the fastest time during pre-season testing at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. This indicated the SF-26’s initial pace under the new technical regulations.
Mercedes currently leads the Constructors’ Championship with 379 points. George Russell, Antonelli’s teammate, holds third place in the Drivers’ standings with 160 points.
Red Bull Racing is positioned sixth in the Constructors’ standings with 177 points. Max Verstappen, their lead driver, is sixth in the Drivers’ Championship with 109 points.
Red Bull has faced challenges with its chassis concept and car degradation throughout the season, and has yet to secure a race victory. Verstappen has voiced criticism regarding the new 2026 engine regulations, which feature a significantly increased electrical power component.
McLaren occupies third place in the Constructors’ standings with 220 points. Lando Norris, who recently won the Hungarian Grand Prix, is fifth in the Drivers’ Championship with 128 points.
The 2026 Formula 1 season introduced substantial technical regulation changes, including a revised power unit configuration and active aerodynamics. These changes have placed a greater emphasis on energy management for drivers.
