A 27-year-old man was arrested on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at the Los Angeles residence of reality television personality Kim Kardashian. The incident occurred during the Formula 1 summer break, impacting the personal life of Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton, who is publicly linked with Kardashian.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies apprehended the individual after a security guard reported suspicious activity at the Hidden Hills property. Initial police reports indicated a potential burglary, with the suspect allegedly observed removing items from the house.
However, sources close to Kardashian have contradicted these claims, stating that the man did not gain entry to the main residence. These sources also noted that due to ongoing extensive renovations, no personal belongings of Kardashian were present in the house at the time.
Kardashian, her children, and Lewis Hamilton were confirmed not to be at the property when the incident took place. The suspect was reportedly booked on suspicion of grand theft auto, having allegedly stolen a vehicle belonging to a Kardashian staff member.
The individual then drove the stolen vehicle around the neighborhood before law enforcement officers cornered him, leading to his arrest. Authorities confirmed that no weapon was found on the suspect, and no injuries were reported during the apprehension.
Due to the extensive renovations, Kardashian and her children have been residing in a rental property for several months. This arrangement meant they were not directly exposed to the security breach at their primary residence.
Lewis Hamilton, currently competing for Ferrari in the 2026 Formula 1 season, holds second place in the Drivers’ Championship. He trails championship leader Andrea Kimi Antonelli by a margin of 50 points.
Hamilton secured his first victory for the Italian team earlier this season, demonstrating strong performance. The Formula 1 calendar resumes with the Dutch Grand Prix at Circuit Zandvoort on August 23, 2026, where Hamilton is expected to contend for a significant result.
The relationship between Kardashian and the seven-time world champion has been a subject of public interest for an extended period. Both celebrities have now openly acknowledged their association.
