Gabriel Bortoleto secured an eighth-place finish for Audi at the Belgian Grand Prix, marking his second consecutive points-scoring result this season. The performance at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps was significantly aided by a rapid pit stop executed by the Audi crew during the race.

On lap 18, Bortoleto entered the pits for his scheduled tire change. The Audi team completed the stop in a swift 2.1 seconds. This efficient turnaround proved critical in the tightly contested midfield battle at Spa.

The rapid pit stop allowed Bortoleto to successfully undercut Esteban Ocon, who was driving for Alpine at the time. Gaining track position over a direct rival was a decisive moment, enabling Bortoleto to maintain his presence within the top ten.

Bortoleto’s consistent form in his debut Formula 1 season with Audi has been notable. Prior to his eighth-place finish in Belgium, he also secured an identical position at the British Grand Prix earlier this month, demonstrating his adaptability.

Audi, in its inaugural 2026 Formula 1 season, has shown encouraging performance. The team’s consistent points finishes, largely attributed to Bortoleto’s efforts, are contributing to their constructors’ championship standing.

The 2026 Belgian Grand Prix itself featured strategic variations due to tire degradation challenges. Drivers faced difficulties managing both medium and hard compound tires throughout the race, making pit stop timing and execution paramount.

Max Verstappen claimed victory at the event, with Charles Leclerc finishing in second position. Lando Norris completed the podium, securing third place at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps.
