He reported being ’30-40% down on my battery’ after Turn 1 and having ‘0% on the battery’ by the top of Eau Rouge.
This power deficit left Russell vulnerable on the Kemmel Straight, where he was overtaken by multiple cars. He stated that his car was running ‘slower than an F2 car’ on the straight, describing the situation as ‘frankly dangerous.’ Russell expressed significant frustration, calling the weekend’s performance ‘unacceptable.’

‘We had an issue on all Mercedes engines that we lacked the power out on the straights,’ Wolff stated. ‘That bit him [Russell] badly and it goes 100% on us.’
